  • 🚿 Hot Water – It takes a bit for hot water to get hot, especially if you are staying at a budget accommodation in Guatemala. Be prepared to wait up to 5 minutes for water to get hot.
  • 💰 $$$ – Prices are market driven and vary drastically depending on what season you are traveling to Guatemala in. If you are traveling Guatemala during the high seasons from late November to early April, expect the highest room rates.
  • 🍳 Breakfast – A lot of hotels in Flores include breakfast in the price of the room.
  • 🎁 Holidays – Book accommodations around Christmas and Easter far in advance as places fill up quickly.

These Flores hotels in this section are located on Flores Island and on San Miguel, both are marked in the picture above. Getting to San Miguel requires a 3 minute boat ride from Flores Island and cost 10Q per person each way.

    There are plenty of places to stay in Flores but for a more intimate experience, it is possible to stay inside Tikal National Park. There are 4 hotels in Tikal National Park which will give you an early jump on exploring the park.

    Tikal tours booked through the hotel are a great deal. Amenities and facilities are wonderful but you will have to share a bathroom. Enjoy perks such as a restaurant, lounge and pool.

    • Mosquitos are swarming, make sure to apply mosquito spray if you don’t want to get eaten alive.

    • While you can get by with English, having some basic Spanish phrases go a long way.
