Albania Travel Guides

Traveling through Albania feels like uncovering one of Europe’s best-kept secrets. This small Balkan country is packed with dramatic mountain ranges, turquoise springs, ancient hilltop towns, and some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean – yet still flies under the radar for many travelers.

During the month I spent traveling around Albania, I was constantly surprised by how diverse, welcoming, and affordable it was. Whether you’re wandering the stone lanes of Berat, hiking above the alpine lakes in Theth, or soaking up the coastal energy of Saranda, the places in Albania offer a perfect mix of natural beauty, culture, and adventure.

What really sets Albania apart is the feeling that you’re exploring a place that still has an authentic, untouched charm. Transportation is easy to figure out, the food is cheap and delicious, and the people are very friendly. It’s also one of the most budget-friendly destinations in Europe.

My mouth in Albania barely scratched the surface, but it gave me a deep appreciation for how special this country is. If you’re planning a trip, use the guides below to help map out where to go, what to expect, and how to make the most of your time in this underrated gem of the Balkans.
