If you are looking for the best places to stay in Oahu on a budget, it’s going to take some planning and good timing.  One of the biggest expenses on your trip to Hawaii will be the accommodations.  That’s why I put together a list of the best cheap Hotels Oahu has to offer.

Many Oahu hotels average 200-400 dollars a night.  Luxury Resorts can run you as much as $1,500 a night for a suite.  I know that can sound daunting when you are watching your wallet.  That’s why I wanted to write about where to stay in Oahu on a budget so you can enjoy a dream trip to Hawaii without having to sacrifice comfort and style.

All the cheap places to stay in Oahu are affordable, convenient and stylish.  These are the best cheap Oahu hotels.

Oahu is divided into 5 distant areas.

  • Honolulu (Waikiki, Honolulu)
  • Windward Coast (Kailua, Kaneohe, Laie)
  • Central Oahu (Pearl City)
  • Leeward Coast (Ko’olina, Ewa, Kapolei, Makakilo, Royal Kunia)
  • North Shore (Haleawa, Sunset, Pupukea, Waialua, Laie, Malaikahana, Mokuleia, Waimea)

Most travelers stay downtown in Waikiki as there are a tons of accommodations and a lot of cheaper places to stay compared to the North Shore.  Most places in Waikiki are walking distance to several restaurants, nightlife and entertainment.

If you want to experience what Hawaii is like on Maui, Kauai or the Big Island, head to the North Shore.  There’s a handful of cheap places to stay in Oahu on this part of the island.

If you are planning an extended stay or plan on working remotely from Oahu for a few months opt stays on the Windward Coast in the town of Kailua.  There are lots to do nearby yet still has a small Hawaiian town feel.
