In this section, I’ll go over where to stay in Moab on a budget. Traveling in the Untied States is not the most budget friendly place, so expect to pay minimum $150 or more a night for budget accommodation in Moab.

Red Stone Inn

Starting off our best places to stay in Moab list is the Red Stone Inn. This motel is quaint and simple. Located a few blocks south of downtown Moab, you can’t go wrong with the Red Stone Inn for the price.

All rooms are equipped with efficiency kitchen which is useful if you’re traveling Moab on a budget. There is a bicycle maintenance area, BBQ area, hot tub and laundry on site.

Guests also have free access to the pool next door at the Big Horn Lodge which is the Red Stone Inn’s sister property.

Adventure Inn Moab

  • Highlights: Eco Friendly Accommodation

This is an older but well kept motel in Moab. Located on the North end of downtown Moab, the Adventure Inn is walkable to several restaurants and puts you closer to Arches NP than other hotels in Moab on this list.

This is a more affordable place to stay in Moab. All rooms are equipped with a coffee machine, microwave and A/C. The best part about the Adventure Inn is that it is powered by solar panels, making this a cheap and eco friendly accommodation in Moab.

Rustic Inn

    In this section, I’ll go over the best hotels in Vang Vieng if you are looking for some luxury and relaxation.

    Sunflower Hill Inn

    • Price: $$$
    • Highlights: Boutique Hotel with years of Character

    The Sunflower Hill Inn is a boutique hotel of 12 rooms. Choose from a guest room in one of the farm houses, the ranch house or a garden cottage.  Each room comes with a patio or a balcony.

    The decoration throughout the Inn makes you feel like you’re in your grandmothers pristine plantation home. This Moab bed and breakfast has a lot of character, I especially love the rocking chairs on the porch.

    The grounds are beautiful and filled with flowers. There is a BBQ area for grilling, spa, pool and hot tub on site. This is a great place to get peace and quiet and truly unwind.

    There is an option for breakfast every morning along with fresh baked cookies in the lounge area which are always a treat after a long day of hiking.

    The location is great, off the main drag in Moab but still close enough to several restaurants, a brewery and a few super markets. A wonderful Moab lodging option for a unforgettable trip.

    Red CLiffs Lodge Moab

    If you’re looking for a beautiful location right on the scenic Colorado River then the Red Cliffs Lodge is where to stay near Moab. Opt for a balcony room with views of the river so you can sip a glass of wine during sunset as you take in the views.

    Speaking of wine, the Castle Creek Winery sits on property which features a large deck that overlooks the Colorado River. There is also a restaurant on site that is open from March to December.

    The rooms are decorated with large wooden furniture as you would have in a lodge, hence the name the Red Cliffs Lodge. There are mountain bike rentals and horseback riding available on property. The hotel can also arrange a rafting tour if you desire.

    Located 25 minutes away from Moab, the views, the winery and the serenity make this one of the best places to stay near Moab. There is also a outdoor pool, gym and 2 tennis courts on property which seals the deal.

    Hoodoo Moab

    Located one block off the main road but still walking distance to several restaurants, bike rentals and jeep rentals in Moab. The rooms are clean, modern, and stylish.

    The best part of staying at the Hoodoo Moab is the elegant pool, it’s basically an oasis in the desert. Other amenities include a hot tub, fitness center, restaurant and bar on site. You won’t be disappointed with this hotel in Moab.

    Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa

    The Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa is one of Moab’s most upscale resorts. A short drive from Moab, the resort sits on 240 acres in a dramatic landscape and offers breath taking views.

    Each room is equipped with a kitchenette and beautiful wooden decor. The Old West style furniture only add to the appeal of the elegant resort.

    Dinner at the River Grill (the restaurant on site) serves farm to table cuisine and offers views of the Colorado River with the red rock canyon as its backdrop. There is hiking nearby along with horseback riding and rafting.

    Moab and Arches National Park are within a 30 minutes drive. Relax at the pool, hot tub or enjoy the top of the line spa. The Sorrel River Ranch Resort and Spa is worth the splurge and is one of the best places to stay in Utah.

    If you like to camp but in more luxury, you’ll enjoy Under the Canvas glamping in Moab. This is the perfect place to stay in Moab if you love star gazing. 

    Located 15 minutes away from Arches National Park,  less than 25 minutes to Dead Horse State Park and within an hour to Canyonlands National Park.

    You can stay in a basic safari tent with a shares bathroom or style yourself out in a luxury tent complete with a shower, sink and lounge area and sofa bed. 

    Every tent comes with linens and a fan because it is the desert after all and it gets hot especially in the summer months of July and August. If you want to stay in nature but still be able to charge your devices you won’t be disappointed with a stay at Under the Canvas in Moab, Utah.

    Best Places to Camp in Moab

    If you love to be in nature and camping is your thing, there are a few places to camp in and near Moab.

    • Up the Creek Campground is a tents only, walk-in campground located just 2 blocks from Main Street. The shaded campground has a grilling station, picnic tables, hot showers, toilets and is right alongside a bike path. The campground is walkable to many restaurants and rental shops.
    • Moab Valley RV Resort is located 2 miles north of Moab and is open all year round. The park has hot showers, a swimming pool, bicycle wash and repair station, dog park and free WiFi. Plus there’s a hot tub, grilling area and BBQ area.
    •  KOA can be found 4 miles south of Moab. The grounds have showers, laundry, a store, Wifi and a pool. The Moab KOA can accommodate RV’s, tents and there are cabins for rent. The deluxe cabins come with their own bathrooms and linens or you can rent a basic tent cabin.
    • Slickrock Campground is open all year round and has communal showers, a store, outdoor cafe and a pool. There are also air-conditioned or heated cabins available for rent but does not have a kitchen or a bathroom.
