Wondering where to stay in Siem Reap? I LOVE Siem Reap and always return to the “city” every time I’m in Southeast Asia. I put city in quotes because Siem Reap is pretty small especially compared to other Southeast Asian cities such as Bangkok or Ho Chi Minh.
Most people flock here to see the famous Angkor Wat which are ancient temples and ruins hidden throughout a foreign jungle. You’ll want to find the perfect spot to pop in and out of between temple hopping in the hot sun, so a hotel with a pool is important.
There are five areas of Siem Reap that you’ll want to stay in, French Quarter, Old Market, Wat Bo, Taphul Village or by Charles de Gaulle Boulevard. I compiled a list of the best places to stay in Siem Reap for each area.

There are numerous shops, restaurants and cafes that you can easily spend the morning shopping and eating your way through the French Quarter. Laid out like a grid its easy to navigate and wonder in and out of the narrow streets…I love this quality in a city!
